The growing season is upon us, and the dahlias are ready to go outside with the poppy. My planting plans have been postponed due to leg pain which kept me off my feet— and out of the garden—for the entire weekend. I think that the stress and demands of the school year reached a breaking point, and this was the message from my body that I am ready for the summer break— and that I need to put more “rest and self-care” on my “to do” list! At the start of May, I proposed a new woven piece for an upcoming show at ART123 Gallery in Gallup. Here are a few photos of the process: cleaning the cholla branches for the loom, warping and choosing materials, and the finished piece. Other photos this month are of the wondrous wildflowers, green grasses, wild skies, and our trio of dogs!
