The plants in the greenhouse are happy and growing: potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, lettuces, squash, radishes, cilantro, basil, cucumbers, and lavender. Zach had the idea to name the space in honor of my beloved mentor and friend, Stuart Fink. This idea touched me to tears, and I used the name that Stuart had as a secret code for me: Sigrud. So— we made a sign for Sigrud’s Solarium. I divided up some succulents to see what will grow. Eagles, hawks, ravens and turkey vultures frequent the fields which are still quite dry and dusty. The wild cactus are blooming up in the forest, but fewer wildflowers than last spring. I’ve been getting ready to be the featured artist at the Old School Gallery’s summer show, ‘Dream Horizons.’ I included a few pictures of new and in-process paintings, and— of course— a picture of the pups. Here’s to a joyful June!
