I have noticed a few articles about the “October Theory,” and it certainly resonated with me this month. Big changes with the shift to the deep autumn. To calm the wave, I made soaps and candles for the Fall Festival, filling the house with the fragrance of lavender and roses. The final dahlias bloomed in the greenhouse— but first, a glorious riot of color and variation; bouquets abounding all around! My artwork is on display in several shows: a solo exhibition at a delicious, wood-fired pizza restaurant, 305 Fire in Gallup, a show about the ranching history of the El Morro area, Seeing What’s There, at the Old School Gallery in El Morro, and a new painting in a group show curated by the Taos Abstract Artist Collective at the Stables Gallery in Taos— which opens on November 1st and closes on November 9th. Also included in this month’s photographs— information/posters about these recent shows, ‘hot-off-the-press’ notecards of my most recent paintings, views of Star Garden Gallery during the very windy Fall Festival day, the trio of mixed media pieces that I created for the show at the Old School Gallery (inspired by a still life session in conjunction with the show), the greenhouse, a new addition of a not-so-feral cat, jack-o-lanterns, and— of course— the pups!
