Sumptuous Snow Days

We’ve had two snow days and two delays during January, and— following several years of “virtual snow days” when faculty and staff would report to school with hopes that students would have enough wifi signal to join the virtual classes— the district decided that we would go back to “good old-fashioned snow days”. It really is a luxury to be gifted a day to stay home. And, even though I used most of the time to catch up on school work— and I will no doubt complain in June when we make up the days— it really has been a lovely way to enjoy the snow. On Wednesdays, I’ve been taking the weekly challenge paintings up to the ART123 Gallery in Gallup, and painting on the weekends. I decided to choose a composition of a field and fence post to link my series of challenge paintings. Included here are the themes: Contrast, Vista, and Chaos. (I neglected to take photos of the canvas panels that I painted for the themes of Discover and Time.) Also included in the photos this month are scenes of snow and sky, jars of dried orange slices, some new notecards featuring photos from Alaska and “dream bubble” paintings, and— of course— the dogs in the snow!
