September Dreaming

In late August and early September, I had several vivid dreams that made their way into a new series of small, odd paintings. The word bubble alludes to the idea of trying to tell someone about one’s dreams. Today, I took these paintings to the Old School Gallery for the fourth quarter show which goes up this week. Around the middle of the month, the light and temperature started to look and feel like fall, but the dahlias, zinnias, roses, and lavender have been glorious and generous all month long. Soaking rains brought rainbows and a late wave of wildflowers. The neighbor’s horses and our three pups love the crisp morning air— with a ribbon of clouds over Ramah Lake, as well as the warm afternoon breezes. Here’s to a happy fall season!
