A Chilly and Challenging November

The plans for making a coyote fence at the studio land— at the back of the parking area— are on hold due to the frozen ground and due to the fact that school work has spilled over into each weekend this fall. But, over the Thanksgiving break, I’ve been working on a new painting, a new weaving, and the 2023 Calendars are ready to order! This year, I put together two calendars: One calendar design has twelve photos from the cruise that I took with my mom at the end of June and start of July through the Southeast Passage of Alaska. The second calendar’s theme is El Morro National Monument, with twelve images culled from hundreds of photos that I have taken there over the past decade. My first visit to El Morro was in the summer of 2012, and I have been reflecting on how an overnight camping trip and a slice of sour cherry pie in July created a momentum in my heart that set in motion my move in 2017 to this off-the-beaten-track region, along the Ancient Way. I am feeling ever so grateful for the opportunities and loves that have greeted me and grown— like a garden, evolving and changing along with the seasons.
