A few short trips at the start of August helped to ‘re-charge my battery’ before heading back to school on the 12th. Students started on the 18th, and we are masked, distancing, and cleaning with vigor, but otherwise the start of the school year is buzzing with the usual excitement and promise that the fresh start of school brings. Here are some photos from a trip up the high road to Taos, stopping in Chimayo along the way. Then, a short camping trip in southwestern Colorado— the Valley of the Ancients— with stunning views from our mesa-top campsite. The recent monsoon rains have resulted in roadsides lined with sunflowers and meadows filled with blooms! And, the full moon rising over the happy hummingbird feeder in the backyard.
