The winds stir up the dust, but it is hard to know what we will see when the dust settles. My hope is for health and clarity, on both a small and large scale; for individuals, communities, and the country. Sometimes, this wish seems like a pipe dream… and, then— I lift my gaze and see the vast sky over Ramah Lake, I awaken to freshly fallen snow and a deer family tiptoeing just outside my window, I stop to get the mail at the post office after school and spot a new colt in the field. This is a fleeting glimpse of April, gusting towards May.
