The Artists’ Challenge Art Show opened at the start of the month with porthole-like views of the seasons by each artist. Then, I found myself focusing on a few new opportunities in Gallup: I was accepted to the Creative Entrepreneurship Cohort of a dozen artists in the Gallup region, invited to participate in a Route 66 100th Anniversary show and summer marketplace, and offered a job as an adjunct art teacher at UNM-Gallup for the fall semester. A trip to Santa Fe— seeing some inspiring art shows, abundant produce at the Farmer’s Market, and lunch with a dear friend on a spring-like weekend— was a lovely was to fasten up February! Photos include views of the Artists Challenge Show in Gallup, items that I am preparing for the Route 66 show (postcards, paper maché rear view mirrors, and journals that will have cover images from travels on Route 66), moonrise, early morning, some Santa Fe snapshots, and— of course— the furry ones!
