Palette-shaped Patio and Preschool!

The palette-shaped patio is progressing-- albeit slowly, now that I've gotten a job teaching preschool at Ramah Elementary.

I'm very excited to work with the youngest learners in a very rural town with most of our student population coming from the nearby Navajo and Zuni communities. New Mexico was recently ranked 50th in the states-- yes, last place-- for education and for childhood well-being. School started on Monday, August 5th, and it’s hard for me to believe that we’ve been in school a month already. I am enjoying my eleven, three-year old students, and they are certainly keeping me on my toes!

I've still been working in my studio/gallery on the weekends, and business has picked up in recent weeks. I plan to be open on most weekends through the fall. I painted some of the patio stones to represent the ‘paint colors’ on the palette, as you can see in the photos.
