The ceiling took three-four coats of paint to cover the plywood with its painted labels, the exposed screws, and the 2x4s with all their knots. I wanted to leave it open so that I can hang some things from the rafters. Also, it feels much more open than a drop ceiling would, and the white paint on the ceiling and rafters makes the space much brighter!
